Project: Strengthening Citizenship and Consolidation of Democracy in Chad
Evaluation Date: February 2011
Report: [report link]
Lesson Learned:

The project succeeded in providing concrete training and awareness-raising on the importance of citizens’ involvement in the electoral process. Its focus on educating small civil society organizations and vulnerable groups – in particular, women from rural awareness was unique since the target beneficiaries had little awareness of their electoral rights.

Project: Promoting Human Rights through Providing Access to Information for Marginalized Women in Zimbabwe
Evaluation Date: November 2015
Report: [report link]
Lesson Learned:

The project document did not explicitly prioritize the identified needs from the point of view of marginalized women. As a result, despite the sound analysis, the project’s relevance was hampered by a tendency to spread activities too thinly across a broad range of issues. The project was trying to address many different problems, all genuine concerns, but ones that could not all be addressed effectively on the project’s financial resources.

Evaluation Date: February 2012
Report: [report link]
Lesson Learned:

The grantee focused on the empowerment of marginalized groups. The main project output – the alternative constitution – was drafted without including country’s dominant political parties. This weakened the chances of the project to establish a lasting effect on Nepal’s constitutional drafting process.

Theme: Interaction with government
Nepal   inclusion, marginal, politics
