Project: Development of Sustainable Voter Registration Methodologies in Sub-Saharan Africa
Evaluation Date: November 2011
Report: [report link]
Lesson Learned:

The project clearly added value at a time when elections in African countries are sometimes jeopardized by a lack of voter registration methodologies and the public’s distrust of technology for example in the Democratic Republic of Congo and Cote d’Ivoire. Acknowledging that no single voter registration system is appropriate in all cases and that there is no literature on the subject were major steps that no other donors had ever supported.

Theme: Tools for knowledge

Project: Increasing Women’s Participation in Politics and Decision Making in Angola
Evaluation Date: March 2013
Report: [report link]
Lesson Learned:

The training, public awareness activities and radio broadcasts were important to political party women’s organizations, CSOs, and journalists in Angola. These outputs significantly impacted on women as individuals. They gained a greater understanding of the importance of participating in political parties, and many of them registered to vote in time for the 2012 elections.
