Currently, there are no existing national platforms such as conferences and symposia. which provide annual or bi-annual spaces to amplify the voices of Community Radio Initiatives.

Lesson Learned:

Community Radio Initiatives cannot survive in isolation and detached from broader national structure. It is critical that they foster memoranda of agreement with journalism training universities to sharpen their capacity and benefit from exchanges.

Lesson Learned:

Human rights education remains a pertinent area for intervention in Zimbabwe, and community radio is a critical tool for pursuing this noble cause. The Zimbabwean government takes advantage of limited rights knowledge among marginalized communities for political expedience.

Lesson Learned:

During field visits, it was clear that the role of Community Radio Initiatives as bearers of local languages, identities, and cultures is crucial for the growth and recognition of Community Radio Initiatives. Branding can help improve their visibility. With little visible branding, community buy-in might not be as high as that which could be possible.

Lesson Learned:

The project has done an excellent job of combining support to improve the situation of individual domestic workers by empowering them with knowledge and offering legal support, with a wider initiative to change the legal environment in which they operate.

Lesson Learned:

In designing a project that addresses knowledge gaps, builds and strengthens locally owned association structures and looks to improve the legal environment, PLA created outcomes that support each other, and the overall objective of the project.

Lesson Learned:

Door to door engagements may be the most time consuming and expensive way of doing engagement, but for this face-to-face interaction is the most effective outreach approach.

Lesson Learned:

Employers are more likely to introduce contracts and treat Domestic Worker staff better when they feel they are part of the discussions, not when they feel the decision is being forced on them. Getting Domestic Workers and employers on the same page, though not always easy, is key.

Lesson Learned:

Domestic work is not as female dominated as one might think. But female and male domestic workers often have different experiences, with the former more likely to be underpaid and sexual exploited.
